Big Data analytics is the key component for Data Science and Business Intelligence. It tends to mine the value from the Big Data by analytics technologies. However, the data used for analytics are usually of low quality, such as inaccurate data, incomplete data or inconsistent data. Thus, although data quality is one of the important issues in data analytics, how data quality will affect big data analytics is still unknown. Therefore, this thesis aims to (1) identify the data quality problems that may possibly affect further data analytics, (2) propose a model to address how to improve data analytics by increasing data quality such as data accuracy and data relevance, and (3) conduct experiments with real-world data to improve the quality of learning data sets and fine tune the data relevance for effective data analytics.
