CONTENT TO BACHELOR THESIS
1. Definition of the key issues
At first I will study main features of the medieaval culture and fashion in England and subsequently I will focus on fashion reflecting social status of those times. I will also investigate Geoffrey Chaucer’s social status and his knowledge of fashion. On the basis of gained information I will analyse clothing of Chaucer’s pilgrims in The Canterbury Tales and Chaucer’s knowledge of fashion.

2. Setting of the goals
The main goal of my thesis is to depict Middle English fashion, compare it to Chaucer’s interpretation of clothing in The Canterbury Tales and elicit how his conception corresponds to common knowledge of medieval fashion.

3. Thesis procedure
At first it is necessary to look through the available literature on the given topic and choose the most appropriate sources and on its basis compile theoretical material. Then I will deal with the Chaucer’s descriptions of his pilgrims’ wardrobe and in the end I will process the obtained information.

4. Expected application
I would like to create a useful material for students of English literature that might help them to get the picture of clothing in Middle Ages in England, especially in the days of Geoffrey Chaucer. I suppose students to take advantage of his knowledge of fashion to complete the charasteristics of his characters.
