Teleportační laser je nejpoužívanější metodou pohybu ve virtuální realitě, ale umožňuje pohyb pouze na krátké vzdálenosti. In the VR applications today, the laser pointer teleportation is the most common locomotion method; however, it often limits the user only to short to medium range. Thesis description
The minimap is ubiquitous in many computer games and helps navigate the virtual space. This technology is yet to be widely used in VR environments and is a subject of research. This work explores one of the uses of minimap. The student will explore the literature and other sources for minimaps in VR, focusing on movement via the minimap. He will implement a minimap that allows exploring the user's surroundings and teleporting using both the minimap and standard method. He will also perform a user study and evaluate the results of the usability of this novel technique compared to traditional teleportation.
