Anotace
Táto práca sa zameriava na monitorovanie a spracovanie vybraných neopraviteľných chýb založených na platforme Kubernetes, ktoré vznikajú počas fázy spúšťania užívateľských notebook serverov spravovaných systémom JupyterHub. Výsledkom je systém s rozšíreným spracovaním týchto situácií, ktorého cieľom je poskytovať explicitnejšie a používateľsky zrozumiteľnejšie chybové hlásenia namiesto nízkoúrovňových systémových chýb, ako aj vhodne ukončiť fázu spúšťania bez potreby zásahu administrátora.
Abstract
This thesis focuses on monitoring and handling specific, Kubernetes-based unrecoverable errors during the spawning phase of single-user notebook servers managed by JupyterHub. The result of this effort is a system with enhanced handling of such cases, which aims to provide more explicit, user-friendly error messages instead of system-level errors, as well as appropriately ending the spawning phase without requiring administrator intervention.
Zadání práce
The scope of the thesis is to develop an extended error management system for JupyterHub deployed on Kubernetes that can automatically respond to and resolve specific unrecoverable system errors. The system will also integrate a logging mechanism that captures detailed error information, enabling the triggering of an alert system. This alert system will notify administrators of critical, system-level errors that cannot be resolved by the user or automatically by the system but need manual intervention. The student will familiarize himself with the JupyterHub stack, the basics of its deployment in Kubernetes, various configurations and external alerting tool. The student will also introduce a more user-friendly notifications that provide user with clearer error messages instead of the system-level errors. The output of the thesis is a functional implementation of an enhanced JupyterHub error management system, better user notification and the text of the thesis serving as the documentation.
