The goal of the thesis si to analyze practice of application of IT project management standards and frameworks in real organizations. While there the ideal or best practice approach is defined in the theory, real companies often tend to adjust them to their particular needs. However, this might cause specific problems not only for project managers, but also for other stakeholders involved in project delivery. In the theoretical part, the student will provide an overview of the most commonly used PM standards and frameworks for SW delivery. In the applied part, the student will do an applied research in selected IT companies - interviews, surveys - with the aim to find out to what extend companies follow the recommended standards/frameworks and what challenges they face if these are followed less formally. Collected data will be analysed, presented and discussed.
