This thesis deals with the use of the tools of corpus linguistics in English language teaching. It describes the use of corpora as an effective way of teaching English as a foreign language. Although corpus linguistics has made an impact on dictionaries and textbooks development, it has not been implemented into the language classroom. Zadání práce
The thesis will deal with the use of the tools of corpus linguistics in English language teaching. It will provide an insight into the situation of a contemporary EFL classroom and the implementation of corpora into three specific areas of language teaching – teacher’s feedback, teaching vocabulary and teaching grammar. The thesis will also introduce some of the tools available to use for teachers and learners. The second part will consist of suggestions for teachers and practical demonstrations of how to use one of the search engines – Sketch Engine – and its functions in the areas of teaching mentioned.
