This paper focuses on farmer-herder violence in the Mopti region, where rising intercommunal conflict threatens both local stability and broader security in Mali. The genre of the work is a policy paper, that analyzes existing policy frameworks related to land governance, climate change adaptation, justice and dispute resolution, and conflict management, all of which have been identified as the main causes and drivers of the conflict. Subsequently, the author proposes solutions that would address the structural causes of the conflict while remaining adaptable to both the current security situation and the challenges posed by climate change.
