The aim of this thesis is to examine the extent to which accent variation in the series Game of Thrones reflects geographical and social distinctions comparable to those in the British Isles. The theoretical part outlines some parallels between the fictional world of the series and the real world and provides descriptions of the accents dealt with in the analytical section. The analytical part explores the speech of three selected characters and identifies their pronunciation features in order to determine whether their accents align with their geographical origin and social status within the narrative.
