This thesis aims to design and develop a suitable web application to collect, record and analyse data (knowledge) obtained during criminal investigations. The developed frontend application will employ a simultaneously developed backend solution for securely storing the knowledge information. The frontend should be designed and implemented to present information about the case and the captured knowledge in an intuitive and visually appealing graphical format to maximise comprehensibility. It should also support different possibilities of user interaction -- especially concerning visual elements supporting orientation in the case (e.g. tagging and grouping objects, working with different case hypotheses, etc.). By creating a user-friendly interface based on graphs, the aim of the solution should be to streamline and optimise the investigation process, which ultimately increases the efficiency and effectiveness of law enforcement operations.
In the theoretical part of the thesis, the author should explore the possibilities of existing solutions to this problem, including their comparison, and discuss different visual methodologies of data presentation. Subsequently, the thesis should present a set of complex requirements, which should be analysed, and the architecture of the desired solution should be outlined. In the practical part of the thesis, the author should present the implementation of the proposed solution, including an emphasis on describing the possibilities of its future extension. A set of tests should also be presented, ideally including feedback from potential future application users.
