This bachelor’s thesis focuses on creation of a comprehensive handbook intended for Czech self-learners of English pronunciation. It comprises simple theoretical background with explanations and practical exercises focused on the segmental level of English phonetics and phonology with an emphasis on common pronunciation mistakes and difficulties among Czech English-learners. The handbook addresses lack of accessible resources in the Czech language for self-learners of English pronunciation. The final product should serve as a practical tool for Czech autodidacts to acquire fundamental skills in the segmental aspect of English pronunciation in their mother tongue and at their own pace.
