The thesis examines the application of AI tools in project management, with a focus on the Service Systems Laboratory (SeSLab). First, the student will review current research on AI support for planning, coordination, and documentation management in research teams. Second, she will map SeSLab’s project-management processes end-to-end and conduct a detailed failure analysis to identify potential errors, recurring bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement. Based on this analysis and a co-created prioritization with lab leadership, she will design actionable recommendations for introducing AI into management workflows and will pilot a small set of high-priority fixes. If possible, the evaluation will compare baseline and post-pilot metrics, such as task cycle time, meeting effectiveness, and rework rate, while also collecting structured feedback from stakeholders.
