Abstract This bachelor thesis focuses on the use of legends in teaching English grammar. Its purpose is to connect culture with teaching grammar in foreign language classes. Firstly the thesis deals with culture, specifically literature, and its role in second language teaching. Other part of the thesis is devoted to teaching grammar and is followed by section where the lesson planning is examined. The main aim of this thesis is to present two sets of lesson plans (B1 and A2 level) focusing on teaching and practising grammar which are based on a legend. For the purpose of this thesis a Legend about Saint George and The Dragon is chosen. Both sets of lesson plans were realized and are reflected on. Anotace Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá využitím legend ve výuce anglické gramatiky. Jejím účelem je spojit rozšiřování kulturních znalostí s učením gramatiky v hodinách anglického jazyka. Nejprve se práce věnuje kultuře, specificky literatuře, a její roli v hodinách cizího jazyka. Dále se práce zabývá učením gramatiky a následně je v práci rozebráno plánování hodin. Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce je vytvoření dvou sad plánů hodin (pro úroveň B1 a A2), které jsou založeny na legendě a zaměřené na učení a procvičování gramatiky. Pro účely této práce byla zvolena Legenda o svatém Jiřím a drakovi. Obě sady plánů byly zrealizovány a reflektovány.
