The topic of the work is the phenomenon of Russian pro-government and opposition media and their coverage of external events in Ukraine (2013-2014) and Belarus (2020). The work format is frame analysis and the example of Russian medium is the RBC. The author compares the coverage of these events by RBC, which in 2016 changed its orientation from opposition to pro-government under pressure from the authorities. The key task of the work is to compare the discourse of independent and later on state-controlled medium, as well as to analyze in this way the usage of the media as a propaganda tool in Russia. The main goal is to identify the mechanisms and strategies by which the media, depending on their political orientation, shape the presentation of events, in order to influence public opinion. The primary sources are television broadcasts on the RBC channel and articles published on their website, the secondary source is the relevant professional and academic literature.
