The configuration of tools for monitoring and analysis of the network traffic and the specific use cases (analysis of application protocols, performance metrics monitoring of SaaS applications etc.) is a complicated task requiring a high level of expert knowledge and skill. On top of that, because of the specific conditions in the client's environment, this task cannot be fully automated. The solution to this problem is assisted configuration. Learn the principles of network traffic measurement using IP flows. Get familiar with network traffic aggregation, visualization options and the current state of configuration templates (called presets) in the Flowmon solution. Propose a set of improvements and changes in the current system with the goal of simplifying the process of creation and updates of presets, moving in the direction of assisted configuration. Implement and test a prototype of the propositions.
