Bachelor's thesis
Path tracing on GPU
Abstract
Práce představuje algoritmus schopný renderovat obrázky s úplnou globání iluminací, výpočet je urychlený použitím paralelního výpočtu. Dalším cílem bylo prošetřit možná rozšíření algoritmu naivního path tracingu, vylepšující efektivitu výpočtu. Práce implementuje path tracer a rozebírá rozdíly mezi dvěmi hlavními výpočetnímy platformami, Open Computing Language (OpenCL) a Compute Unified Device Architecture …more
Abstract
The thesis introduces an algorithm capable of rendering images with full global illumination, the computation is accelerated with use of parallel processing. Another aim was to investigate possible extensions of naive path tracing algorithm, further improving the efficiency of computation. The thesis implements a path tracer and inspects the differences between two major computing platforms, Open Computing …more
