The bachelor will focus on the problems of gender differences in inter-generational transmission of union instability across countries. It is well known that children of separated parents are significantly more likely to dissolve their partnerships than children from intact families. This work will take into account not only dissolution of legal union forms, but also dissolution of cohabitations, because of the widespread prevalence of this form of union. In addition, unlike previous studies, thesis will try to consider both genders and conduct a cross-national analysis of the differences between them. Empirically, the thesis will utilize data from the Generations and Gender Survey (GGS).
