South Asian International students abroad experience financial pressure, student employment, and work-study-life balance. This thesis examines, in the context of the Czech Republic, how these pressures shape academic performance, social life, and mental well-being. Using qualitative semi-structured interviews and thematic analysis, the study identifies six interconnected themes: the economic survival imperative; the work-study trade-off; psychosocial strain and social isolation; linguistic and cultural barriers to integration; bureaucratic and institutional constraints; and individualized coping mechanisms. The findings indicate that financial pressure among South Asian international students is not a product of individual circumstances but a structurally constructed condition, driven by higher tuition fees without welfare, bureaucratic/political problems in home countries, annual visa renewals, and restricted institutional support. Employment at high importance systematically degrades academic engagement, increases social isolation, and mixes psychological distress in a self-reinforcing cycle. Individual coping strategies, while honest and innovative, are insufficient responses to structural conditions. The thesis contributes the first qualitative understanding of South Asian international student experience in Czech higher education and identifies concrete recommendations for institutional reform.
