Course objectives
The course focuses primarily on the Internet, which (thanks to its various services) finds more and more utilization in schools of different types, as well as in education outside schools and in life-long education. The seminar deals with limitations and possibilities of the Internet use (web pages, e-mail, wiki, podcast, weblog etc.) in education, in work of teachers and head teachers, including implementation of Internet in the area of social educational science and counselling. The crucial part of the seminar concentrates on using the Internet education both in theoretical level and in the level of concrete projects when students relying on their theoretical knowledge find educational projects (webpages, software programmes etc.) on the Internet and suggest their possible use for different forms of education and learning. Seminar projects represent small research projects that attempt to discover and identify – possible- roles of the Internet in different forms of education or possible ways in which Internet can help various agents in education. After completing the course students should have a general insight in implementation of Internet and its services in education and in possibilities of related research. The participants of the course will not only use their skills and knowledge of computer and Internet, but will especially apply their knowledge gained from study materials, general didactics and various pedagogic disciplines.
