Course objectives
The target points of this course are:

- Application of specific logistic tools in practice
- Identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce costs or rationalize ways of working and to implement them
- Making the students familiar with profitability objectives such as improving return on assets or increasing profits
- Understanding marketing objectives (self-financing ratio, credibility)
- Consideration of environmental criteria in procurement
Syllabus
  • 1. Fundamentals of logistics, origin and the meaning of the term logistics, main tasks of logistics.
  • 2. Acquisition of material, fiction of material economy, and the ways and kinds of orders.
  • 3. Choice of suppliers, suppliers structure, suppliers’ net, key suppliers.
  • 4. Make-or-buy decision concerned with key production competencies, Loir fix cost at the own production.
  • 5. Survey of the suppliers’ market, development of the market.
  • 6. Tasks and goals of material economy. Methods of needs recognition.
  • 7. Deterministic and stochastic recognition of the material needs of company.
  • 8. Execution of orders and making contracts, speciality in difference kinds.
  • 9. Centralization of the warehousing levels, warehousing technique, systems of warehousing.
  • 10. Elements of production logistics, production procedures, research and development and production structure.
  • 11. Distribution logistics, distribution channels, transport.
  • 12. Logistics of recycling and waste processing, ecological aspects.
  • 13. Strategies of outsourcing – organizational aspects, private and public warehouses.

Assessment methods
The lessons have the form of lectures and seminar according to topical areas. The conditions for admission to the exam is to pass the test (at least 60%). The form of exam: oral and written
