Course objectives
The aim of the subject is to introduce students to the system theory and system approach to a company and management of its internal activities and processes (including the related external processes). A company is presented as a multisystem and the knowledge of its partial systems (their functions, mutual inter-relations, and links to the external environment) are vital for understanding the whole company and for its management.
Learning outcomes
At the end course, students should be able:
to define the basic concepts of systems science;
to understand a company as complex system;
to create models of complex systems and simulate them;
to define terms related with BPM;
to model and optimize business processes;
to understand information systems, their benefits, and development;
to define terms related with project management;
to create a project plan;
to define terms related with quality management;
to define terms related with corporate performance management;
to define terms related with operations management;

Assessment methods
Final grade consists:
from final exam;
from seminar work;
from testing;
from active participation.
Before taking the exam, students have to earn certain amount of points (more information in study materials).
The exam has a form of electronically written essay.
In case of plagiarism in seminar works, the student can be graded with X. Any copying, recording or leaking tests, use of unauthorized tools, aids and communication devices, or other disruptions of objectivity of exams (credit tests) will be considered non-compliance with the conditions for course completion as well as a severe violation of the study rules. Consequently, the teacher will finish the exam (credit test) by awarding grade "F" in the Information System, and the Dean will initiate disciplinary proceedings that may result in study termination.
