- Prerequisites
- The subject Methodology 1 (bp4001) is required. Knowledge of basic concepts of science methodology (quantitative and qualitative research, structure and types of research) and descriptive statistics (measuring scales, positioning, variability, dependencies). Knowledge of their application when analyzing research data.
- Course Enrolment Limitations
- The course is only offered to the students of the study fields the course is directly associated with.
- fields of study / plans the course is directly associated with
- there are 9 fields of study the course is directly associated with, display
- Course objectives
- The aim of the np4001 is to acquire a set of knowledge and skills leading to the successful development of a research project and then final (master's) work in the context of relevant methodological procedures.
- Learning outcomes
- Student is able after graduation: Define basic concepts of science methodology, quantitative and qualitative research; name the research problem and identify the types of research; to cite the relevant knowledge from the studied literature; explain the research goal, formulate research questions / hypotheses; describe the research file and the method of selection; characterize the structure of scientific work; to use methodological knowledge in the development of a research project. Define the basic concepts of measurement theory, descriptive and inferential statistics; analyze research data by descriptive statistics; calculate location, variability, and dependency rates; to test research hypotheses using inferential statistics; formulate research findings; summarize the content of the research work in the abstract.
