Course objectives
The aim of the subject is to acquire basic information about working with clients and practical skills in real situations (establishing contact, interviewing techniques, listening and intervention) for children, adults, seniors and specific groups.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- establish contact with the client;
- use adequate strategies for guided conversation;
- formulate the problem;
- to intervene in the area of ​​prevention across the age spectrum.
Syllabus
  • 1. The role of the consultant and the relationship with the client.
  • 2. Consulting processes, phases.
  • 3. Types of counseling interventions.
  • 4. Preparation of a worker in prevention - communication skills (verbal, non-verbal).
  • 5. Interview, interviewing techniques.
  • 6. Conducting interviews with clients (across the age spectrum).
  • 7. Approaches to difficult types of clients (aggressive, depressed, anxious, neurotic, inaccessible).
  • 8. Mistakes in counseling practice, basics of supervision, feedback.
  • 9. Ethics in consulting activities, professionalism.
  • 10. Simulation work with the client (adult population).
  • 11. Simulation work with the client (children, seniors).
  • 12. Simulation work with the client (specific groups).
  • 13. Review of findings.
