Course objectives
The goal of this subject is to provide the student with understanding of the physiology and physiology of exercise and sport. Exercise Physiology is intended for students of physiotherapy. In practical lessons is including work tests.
Learning outcomes
- Teaching physics is not an end in itself. The subject is thematically oriented so that the basic information about the function of the human body and its organs is presented to the students at the lectures (selected key themes), then discussed in Seminars and applied in Practice where the student will actively participate in the realization of concrete tasks , exercises and tests and program essays. Part of the Exercise will be the separate elaboration of worksheets.
- The course is designed so that the student can understand the basic functions of the human body as a whole, as well as the function of the organs and understand the mutual interaction of the human organism and the external environment for maintaining homeostasis.
- Similarly, it will be mentioned how the function of the human organism (and the function of its individual organs) will affect the physical burden, illness, stress,
- Students are familiar with differences in the functions of the human body in childhood, adulthood and old age.
- Knowledge gained through the study of Physiology will allow students to understand the concepts and processes in the human organism that the student encounters in the next follow-up studies at FSpS.
- The completion of the subject of Physiology is a necessary prerequisite for enrollment of subjects related to further study at FSpS.

  • 02. Structure and function of skeletal muscle, skeletal muscle and exercise.
  • 03. Structure and function of the nervous system.
  • 04. Neuromuscular adaptation to training.
  • 05. Metabolism, energy, and basic energy systems.
  • 06. Metabolic adaptation to training.
  • 07. Endocrine glans and their hormones.
  • 08. Hormonal response and adaptation to exercise.
  • 09. Structure and function of the cardiovascular system, cardiovascular response and adaptation to exercise.
  • 10. Scructure and function respiratory system, respiratory response and adaptation to excercise.
  • 11. Termoregulation, responses and acclimatization to exercise in hot and cold environments.
  • 12. Exercise in hypobaric and hyperbaric environments.
  • 13. Children and adolescents in sport and exercise.
  • 14. Aging in sport and exercise.
  • 15. Sex diferences in sport and exercise.
