Abstract
The course is intended for students of the Bachelor's degree programme. Students will get basic information about the crisis, the process of crisis, crisis management, techniques and approaches to working with emotions. They will have the opportunity to practice making contact with a client, mapping a contract, working with emotions, different types of clients, and ending a counseling call. The course is practically oriented.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to make contact with the client, identify the client's order, and complete the interview. The student will be able to recognize a crisis, be familiar with crisis management techniques, and be able to apply basic principles/techniques in working with emotions during client contact.
Key topics
Block 1: What is a crisis? Basic principles of working with a crisis (making contact, mapping the contract, working on the contract, ending the conversation). Techniques of conducting a conversation with a client (active listening, guiding, reflection). Block 2: Working with emotions in a crisis intervention (anger, anxiety, sadness, crying, fear, shame). Selected issues in crisis intervention (working with emotions, working with suicidal clients, domestic violence and addiction issues). Block 3: Specifics of crisis intervention for children, adolescents and seniors. Specifics of telephone, internet and face-to-face crisis intervention. Ethics in crisis intervention. Mental hygiene in crisis intervention.

seminars & training
Method of verifying learning outcomes and course completion requirements
The end of the course is in the form of a colloquium. 100% attendance at seminars is required for successful completion of the course. In order to be admitted to the colloquium, a record of conducting 2 x 60-minute long chat conversations (see Final paper below), subsequent feedback on 2 other calls, and completion of a self-reflection are required to be submitted to the Submissions.
