Course objectives
The aim of the course is self-knowledge, personal growth and development, working in and with interactions. Deepening the understanding of oneself and others, one's own personal prerequisites for the profession, the importance of the knowledge and skills acquired through study.
Learning outcomes
The competences in question are the increase of the ability to apply the theories of the field in the performance of the profession; the strengthening of the strength of one's own subjectivity, genuineness, empathy; the strengthening of the perception of the games of professional and personal life, strengths and weaknesses; the development of the awareness of the importance of one's own opinions, attitudes, values crucial for the performance of the profession.
Syllabus
  • The course is initiated by the fact that students, after registering for the course, submit a request for consent to enrol via IS MUNI, thus simultaneously enrolling for an initial personal interview (about ½ hour) about the motivation for taking the Self-Experience Group course. The students bring a handwritten text on A4 to the interview, answering the question "Why do I want to take the Self-Experience Group?". Selected students will be given permission to enrol. By enrolling in the course, students agree to abide by the ethical rules customary in the professional environment of the helping professions, especially confidentiality.

Teaching methods
The course takes place in blocks of once usually every 2 weeks for 2 + 2 lessons, the lesson is 50 minutes long. The course consists of group meetings during the semester with discussions on topics raised by the participants concerning various aspects of the study, work and personal life of the trainees. The group leaders place these topics in the context of the educational and working process of the trainees in particular. During the group work, the aim is to strengthen personal and professional identity through a direct insight into oneself, the insight of others and of others, gaining and/or deepening orientation in social interactions. Techniques used - free association, discussion, feedback, reflection, interpretation, corrective experience. Excuses for absence are sent in advance via e-mail to all participants of the self-experience group.
Assessment methods
For successful completion of the course it is required (a) completion of at least 21 out of 25 teaching hours and 2 + 2 mandatory credit hours; (b) preparation of an assignment, i.e. after each block of teaching hours preparation of a diary (seminar paper) as a text according to the assignment of at least 300 ± 30 words with thoughts, feelings, impressions, observations, etc. and storage within 7 days in IS MUNI. The name of the document to be inserted should be "YYYY-MM-DD_last name", the date should be the group date. The diary is to be written by the students even if they are absent; (c) the final essay is to be based on the experience of working in the group, the diaries and the literature, and presented at the credit meeting. The deadline for submission of the essay is the Monday preceding the credit session. The required length of the final essay is 3000 ±300 words. The structure of the thesis is posted in the MUNI IS
