Course objectives
The course is focused on the personal social services field, the specifics of the different target user groups and the role of social work in this segment of the welfare state. At first is presented the history and development the personal social services in West European Countries and USA and particularly in last 20 years. Subsequently is discussed the changes and development the system of personal social services in Czech republic - the target group of the users, current law, new form of the services, new methods of social work with users, financing and the planning of social services in the regions and municipalities. At the end of this course, student should be able to: use the key therms describe the historical context of personal social services discuss the development of personal social service in the Czech Republic and another EU countries interpret the changes and trends in personal social services operate the current law in this filed, first of all The Act no.108/2006 on Social services

After passing this course, student should be able to: - use the key therms; - describe the historical context of personal social services; - identify and summarize the development of personal social service in the Czech Republic and another EU countries; - define and describe the changes and trends in personal social services; - understand the role of social work in this segment of social policy - define and describe the current law in this filed, above all The Act no.108/2006 on Social services
