Course objectives
The introductory seminar focuses on the preparation of the bachelor thesis project draft. It includes a series of lectures introducing the types of bachelor theses and the rules for their development, while the tutors introduce the topics and types of theses they supervise. Students then choose their supervisors, under whose guidance they formulate the preliminary topic of their bachelor thesis.
The output of the seminar is an annotation of the topic of the bachelor thesis, which includes (1) a contextual framing of the problem to be addressed, (2) a basic discussion of the theoretical and methodological knowledge and skills necessary for the elaboration of the bachelor thesis, and (3) a framework plan for the study of compulsory and compulsory elective courses corresponding to the topic of the bachelor thesis.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to:
- formulate the basis of the topic of the bachelor thesis,
- place the problem to be solved in a theoretical and methodological context,
- create a study plan appropriate to the topic of the bachelor thesis.
Syllabus
  • 1. Introduction, basic information about the structure, content and termination of the course.
  • 2. Pathway to the goal - information about the structure of the seminar system and the process of creating a bachelor thesis, including a timeline.
  • 3. How to think about the topic and choose a supervisor.
  • 4. Introduction to the basic structure and different types of bachelor theses.
  • 5: Introducing the product bachelor thesis and their supervisors.
  • 6. Introduction of the overview statue and supervisors of this type of bachelor thesis.
  • 7. Introduction of the research and historical undergraduate thesis and their supervisors.
  • 8. How to write a professional text - basic insight and useful information.
  • 9. Individual consultation with supervisors, discussion of topics under consideration.
  • 10. Selection of a supervisor, submission of the bachelor thesis annotation and plan of study.
  • 11. Participation in bachelor thesis defenses.
  • 12. logging in to the bachelor thesis topic in the Information System.
