ZUR534 Revue for media I.
The course is aimed at advanced MA and BA students, who are focusing on media studies, media research, theoretical and empirical reflexion of new media and theory of journalism. In the beginning of the term, students make up a team responsible for content of the medium. (Students with basic knowledge in the field thus have an opportunity to popularize their knowledge and to publish their own texts; editorial work also develops their writing skills).

Course objectives
The main aim of the course Revue for Media is to create content of the blog on media theories and research in the field of media studies. After the course, students should be able to write texts reflecting the problems of media and the developments in the field.

  • introduction to the Revue for Media blog
  • profile of a person important for media studies
  • dictionary entry on a topic relevant for media studies
  • book review
  • critical discussion on students' texts
