Course objectives
The course is aimed at acquiring basic skills of dramaturgical analysis, understanding the necessary theoretical concepts and their application to specific material. Dramaturgical analysis is seen as a specific form of media text analysis, based on dramatics, aesthetics, film theory and philosophy of art. Students should not only be able to analyze the composition and topic plan, but also the meanings stored in them and describe and analyze them on a wider aesthetic outlook. The course will focus mainly on the analysis of audiovisual works of fiction (series, movies) and non-fiction (news, current affairs, documentary). Suitable for graduates of the bachelor course ZUR383 Dramaturgy practice - deep analysis develops skills of undergraduate study and complements the fundamental theoretical apparatus.
