- Course objectives
- The course aims to equip students with basic knowledge about the role, goals, principles, methods of organization and management, tools, evaluation options, and current problems of partial social policies focused on the areas of social security, employment, health, education, families, and housing. Attention is paid to specific policies and measures from a national and international perspective. The subject loosely follows the Theory of Social Policy and Social Development by showing the nature of the goals, tools, and effects of social policy in the practice of individual subdisciplines.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course, students will be able to 1) understand the link between the goals, tools, and effects of partial social policies and 2) the role of various actors in the process of their creation and implementation, 3) analyze these policies from different perspectives, 4) propose adequate procedures leading to their improvement functioning or to solve possible problems and 5) to understand and assess sub-policies and their instruments in an international context.

- Lectures, group discussions at seminars, and study of literature.
- Assessment methods
- The course ends with an exam. Participation in seminars, creation and presentation of a team project, and successful completion of an ongoing written test are required for admission to the exam. The final exam takes the form of a written test verifying knowledge of the subject and the ability to apply it to specific social problems/events.
