Course objectives
Groundings of expressive therapies are intruduce in the course– art-therapy, music-therapy, dance-movement therapy and dramatherapy. These therapies are intruduce as a nonverbal technics that could therapist use in psychotherapeutic praxis. Students learn these technics by their own experience. Goals of the course: Students are oriented in principles of expressive therapies – theory, history, basic methods, therapeutic factors, target groups.
They will know how and when presented expressive technics in group and in individual therapy.
They will know how share process and content in group, they can structure expressive session.
In their own project students prepare and present some expressive technics in the group, that are supervised by lector.
Students become feedback on their own style of presentation and leading group.
Syllabus
  • 1. Art-therapy – warm – up technics, scribble, from chaos to order, theory and praxis of art-therapy, how share the process and the content in group in expressive therapies
  • 2. Dance – movement therapy – warm – up technics, movement in therapy, improvisation, expressive dance, concentrative and movement therapy – space and place, bodywork, theory and praxis of dance-movement therapy
  • 3. Music-therapy – warm up technics with Orff instruments, music dialogs, together improvisation, voice therapy, picture of myself, theory and praxis of music therapy
  • 4. Dramatherapy – warm up technics, roles, improvisation, development metamorphosis, other approaches – psychodrama, psychopantomime, psychogymnastics, theory and praxis in dramatherapy
  • 5. Crossing arts I - poetry as a healing art, art therapy and movement (stories in art therapy, myself and world in art therapy and movement)
  • 6. Crossing arts II –art therapy+music therapy+dramatherapy (group work theme: Elements)

Teaching methods
Using technics: art-therapy, music-therapy, dance-movement therapy and dramatherapy. Student will lead self final project; Students become feedback on their own style of presentation and leading group.
Assessment methods
Credit: 80% attendance, 3 pages homework (content: reflection of own experience with selected technics and contextualized these technics into theory of expressive therapies), individual project (prezentation of selected technics, leading group, leading sharing process and content, supervised by lector)
