Course objectives
This course critically examines qualitative approaches applied in psychological research. The philosophical foundations of qualitative research; epistemology and ontology are introduced. Major concepts in phenomenology, grounded theory, narrative research, phenomenological research and other approaches are disscussed. The ability of the students to propose research project, i. e. to formulate research problem, research questions, proper research design, and variety of data collection procedures is being stressed. Students should be able to utilize some approaches to analysis and interpretation. Ethical issues are involved as well.

Teaching methods
lectures, practise, group discussion, consensual analysis of research text.
Assessment methods
Students are supposed to analyze parts of given text according to GT, IPA, NOI, DA and QQR during the course.
