Course objectives
The aim of this seminar is to introduce fan audience in the context of fan studies (its history), typical practices of media fans, and participative culture in general.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to: use their theoretical knowledge of fan studies; connect this knowledge with other contexts (media studies, cultural studies, pop-culture studies, TV studies etc.); know basic methodological approaches to study fans (and niche or subcultural audiences in general); participate in academic discussions

Teaching methods
theoretical preparations, discussions during seminars, group discussions, and projects - dialogue as a teaching approach
Assessment methods
During the semester, students are expected to read the recommended literature, be active in class, and do cooperative activities in class (fanart). All previous points are concluded with a final project = fan activism campaign or fan creation - video; the possibility of working in pairs (but it must be a bigger/more ambitious project); the topic of the project must be consulted and approved by the teacher beforehand.
