Abstract
This course enables students of public and social policy and social work to understand the processes that affect the position and actions of individuals in contemporary societies. Its aim is to strengthen knowledge, skills, and abilities of students who should be able at the end of the course to identify, analyze and understand current public and social problems and risky behavior of different individuals and groups through existing sociological theories and different (paradigmatic) approaches.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will be able to analyze and understand all social processes and actions of individuals and groups that he encounters as a graduate in the everyday practice.

Approaches, practices, and methods used in teaching
Individual topics are presented in the form of a professional lecture. Each topic is accompanied by seminars, where individual and group discussions are held on the knowledge discussed and information studied in the compulsory literature.
Method of verifying learning outcomes and course completion requirements
In order to complete the course, it is necessary to successfully pass the mid-term and final tests and to continuously complete the seminar tasks.
