Course objectives
The course makes students acquainted with legal aspects of existence and activity of intelligence services. Attention will be especially paid to system of intelligence services, their position, powers and competences.
Syllabus
  • 1. The introduction to study of intelligence services. 2. Models of legal regulations of intelligence services, legislation requirements. 3. The classification of intelligence services, supervision, other subjects ensuring national security. 4. The development of legal regulations of activities of Intelligence services on Czech territory. 5. Intelligence services in the Czech Republic, their position in system of state administration bodies, reports making and information forwarding, supervision of intelligence services. 6. The competences of intelligence services. 7. Competences of intelligence services, specific means of data acquisition. 8. Legal regulation of the position of intelligence services members.

Course instruction proceeds in lectures and thematically connected seminars. Prerequisite for course completion is defence of an essay on the predetermined topic.
