Abstract
After successful completion of the course Administrative Science: student - has a deeper knowledge of the actual structure and functioning of public administration as a social management systém, is able to orientace in fundamental aspects and problems of modern public administration in a democratic rule of law and the European administrative area, has knowledge of the decision-making processes in public administration (including the principles of good governance), of a personal basis of public administration and civil service, of the principles of ethics and ethical codes, - is able to orientate in in information policy and standards of public administration, - can design problem solving specific issues related to the organization and activities of public administration, with respect to the current reformative process, - is able to convey knowledge of the latest developments and trends in European public administration systems for the preparation of modernization processes in public administration.
Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student:


Possesses advanced knowledge of the structure, functions and governance of public administration as a complex societal system operating within a democratic state governed by the rule of law.


Understands the fundamental principles, institutions and challenges of modern public administration, including those arising within the European administrative space.


Understands decision-making processes in public administration, including the principles of good governance, accountability and control.


Has command of issues related to human resource management in public administration, particularly civil service, professionalisation of the administrative apparatus, and ethical principles.


After completing the course, the student is able to:


Analyse and evaluate organisational structures and activities of public administration, identify weaknesses and propose ways to optimise them.


Apply the principles of good governance to various processes and situations in public administration.


Independently formulate proposals for solutions to problem areas related to the functioning of public administration, especially in the context of reform and modernisation processes.


Communicate professionally on issues of public administration, interpret research findings and argue effectively when addressing practical tasks.
