Course objectives
Emergency Medicine for Paramedics IV is a core subject that expands and deepens existing theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of emergency medicine. The subject's content is divided into two main parts: theoretical-practical instruction and simulation medicine. Teaching takes place alternately at the Department of Health Sciences (ÚZV) and the Department of Simulation Medicine (SIMU). Key topics include: ALS (Advanced Life Support), life-threatening conditions, communication in emergency medicine, eCPR, and specialized nursing care in ICU/critical care units. The course focuses not only on pre-hospital care but also on acute inpatient care in ICU (Anesthesiology and Resuscitation) and emergency departments.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student is capable of functioning as a fully-fledged member of the resuscitation team, as well as its team leader in the case of managing critical situations.
