- Abstract
- The aim of the course is to provide students with a comprehensive, evidence-based understanding of obesity as a serious chronic and multifactorial disease. The course focuses on the biological mechanisms underlying the development and progression of obesity, as well as the nutritional, genetic, behavioral, and environmental factors that contribute to its onset. It also addresses effective strategies for prevention and treatment. Special emphasis is placed on the importance of a holistic, interdisciplinary approach and on the development of practical counseling and communication skills through long-term work with a client. Students will learn to apply up-to-date scientific knowledge in designing individualized nutritional recommendations and to critically reflect on their own professional practice.
