Prerequisites
The student can identify all significant skeleton structures, parts of the joints, deduce all movements in the joints and recognize all the muscles. He/she should also orientate itsef on X-rays.

Course objectives
This subject is dedicated to study of passive and active movement apparatus. At the end of the course students should be able to:
apply the correct anatomical nomenclature
- name all parts of the human skeleton including the detailed relief
- describe correctly joints of the bones including the movements occuring at each joint
- characterize the newborn skull
- distinguish the male and female skull and pelvis
- identify individual muscles of the human body, discuss their attachments and innervations
- define actions of individual muscles and muscular groups
- define skeletal structures demonstrated by radiographs in basic projections

  • 1. Planes and directions of the body. RTG anatomy. Skeleton of the spine and thorax.
  • 2. Skeleton of the upper extremity.
  • 3. Skeleton of the lower extremity.
  • 4. Neurocranium.
  • 5. Splanchnocranium.
  • 6. Cavities of the skull.
  • 7. General arthrology. Joints of the spine and thorax.
  • 8. Joints of the skull and upper extremity.
  • 9. Joints of the lower extremity. Pelvis.
  • 11. Oral examination: osteology, arthrology.
  • 12. Muscles and fasciae of the head.
  • 13. Muscles of the thorax, abdomen and back.
  • 14. Muscles of the extremities.

Practice with the human anatomical specimens.
Assessment methods
Completion of the subject is assessed by the course-unit credit. A precondition for obtaining the course-unit credit is 95% attendance at the seminars (1 non-attendance tolerated).
