Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to: understand and explain diagnostic methods in neurology; use their potential to determine possible clinical and research applications and interpret the results of diagnostic methods (e.g. fMRI signal, etc.).
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to - define diagnostic methods in neurology - describe basic neurophysiological and biochemical examination methods - describe basic neuroimaging methods and their clinical importance - describe advanced neuroimaging methods and their scientific/neuroscience application after they will have finished the course.
Syllabus
  • 1. Paraclinical examinations in neurology- X-ray, CT, MRI, SPECT, PET. 2. Paraclinical examinations in neurology- functional MRI, the statistical evaluation of the data. 3. Paraclinical examinations in neurology- MR spectroskopy, the statistical evaluation of the data. 4. Paraclinical examinations in neurology- neurophysiology (EMG, EP, EEG, other specialized techniques, TMS) 5. The conclusions. Colloquium (written).
