Course objectives
The main aims of the course involve:
Understanding of main pharmacological mechanisms of drug actions and their combinations leading to therapeutic, adverse and toxic effects of drugs. Orientation in the issue of dosage forms and application routes of drugs. Understanding the main factors that can affect the effect of drugs.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will adopt the basic pharmacological concepts, understand the main mechanisms of action of drugs, will be familiar with a wide range of dosage forms and application methods, in which he will be able to describe their advantages / disadvantages and differences. Student will distinguish the basic factors that affect the effects of drugs.
Syllabus
  • LECTURE 1: General pharmacological terms. Classification of drugs. Basics of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics.
  • LECTURE 2: Factors affecting the effect of the drug. Adverse drug reactions. Overview of dosage forms and application routes of drugs.
