Abstract
The course "Handling chemical substances" is compulsory for all students who manipulate with chemicals in the practical courses during their studies at Faculty of Medicine, MU. This fact follows from study plans, responsible persons are guarantees of individual study fields. Main objectives are: to know basic chemical legislacy, to master handling chemical substances including hazardous chemicals, and to know the removal of chemical wastes.
Key topics
Information about scopes af chemical laws: No.356/2003, 352/1999, 258/2001, administrative orders 25/1999 and 27/1999, and other documents dealing with the problems of chemical substances. Topics: basic definitions characteristics of hazardous chemicals hazard symbols, R-phrases, S-phrases safety sheet packing and labeling of hazardous chemicals storing of chemical substances responsibility of person basic rules for working in chemical laboratories removal of chemical wastes

Approaches, practices, and methods used in teaching
Introductory lecture at the beginning of semester in practical exercises and/or first lecture.
Method of verifying learning outcomes and course completion requirements
The graduation from this course is the test in IS (valid for all registered students). Test contains 15 simple questions, the limit for getting the credit is 13/15.

Předmět je nutno absolvovat každý rok v prvních třech letech studia na LF, nelze jej opakovat. Nevykonání testu v daném roce, kdy studujete na LF a zacházíte s chemickými látkami, může znamenat při ukončení studia značné problémy, neboť jde o povinný předmět. Studenti 1. ročníku absolvují proškolení podle pokynů svých učitelů na Biochemickém ústavu LF. Studenti 2. a 3. ročníku absolvují pouze test. Potřebné informace jsou všem zapsaným zasílány hromadnými e-mailem, případně je lze získat v IS MU. Test je povinný pro všechny zapsané studenty. Test je přístupný z ISu formou odpovědníku k danému předmětu. Z 15 položených otázek je nutně správně odpovědět 13x. Test lze libovolně opakovat. Absolvovaný test se registruje periodicky do ISu jako zápočet z ZC011 a je dokladem o absolvování školení.

General note: Povinné každoroční školení bez kreditového hodnocení. Absolvování tohoto předmětu je nutnou podmínkou pro vstup do všech předmětů, ve kterých dochází k manipulaci s chemickými látkami (laboratorních cvičení, bakalářských a diplomových prací).
