Course objectives
The aim is to provide knowledge of current issues in metabolism and nutrition in nephrology and familiarization with effective nutritional therapies.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will be able to understand and explain the basic principles of anatomical and functional organization of the kidneys and urinary tract. Students will be able to determine the individual nutritional needs of patients with kidney and urinary tract, and some specialized processes nutritional care.
Syllabus
  • 1.The basic physiological and metabolic renal function 2.Renal and urinary tract disorders and metabolism 3.Etiology, clinical features, diagnosis, treatment options, complications and prevention of acute renal failure, chronic kidney disease, infectious and immunological inflammation of the kidneys, urinary tract infections, kidney stones and urinary 4.Nutritional procedures and measures in the various renal diseases, urinary tract and gout 5.Nutritional processes stage 1-3 CKD 6.Nutritional processes stage 4-5 CKD 7.Dietary measures after renal transplantation
