Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide students with a comprehensive summary of all pathological processes, defects and diseases occurring in the eye. Eye Pathology monitor disease and abnormalities of the eye, not only by the structures of the body, but also in terms of visual organs and functions of the whole organism.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to disscuss about comprehensive summary of all pathological processes, defects and diseases occurring in the eye.
Syllabus
  • Types of eye structures diseases (inborn, aqccuired, inflaminations, tumors, trauma) - affection of the anterior eye, diseases of the orbit, inflammations, endocrine orbitopathies, tumors and injuries of the orbit, additional organs and their pathology - affection of lenses, changing the position and shape-congenital cataract, senile, complicated cataract, surgery, complications, correction of refractive error after surgery; - glaucoma, screening methods glaucoma: primary open angle, closure glaucoma, special forms of open-angle glaucoma, secondary glaucoma, congenital glaucoma treatment; - neuroophthalmology: diseases of the visual pathway, subjective and objective symptoms, neuritis, congestive papilla; chiasmatic syndrom, disorders retrochiasmatické visual pathway; disease pupil, nystagmus; - strabismus, etiology, clinical affections, manifest and latent squint; - pathology of binocular vision, concommitant and paralytic strabismus; - traumatology in ophthalmology, superficial, penetrating and perforating eye injuries, contusions of the eye and surrounding structures; - burns and chemical burns of the eye and adnexa, first aid, treatment, complications - ocular manifestations of systemic diseases
