- Course objectives
- The aims are to familiarize students with individual neurological diseases, their manifestations, diagnostics, and treatment, and to understand the contribution of physiotherapists in the diagnostics and therapy of these diseases.
- Learning outcomes
- By the end of this course, students will be able to: - identify the most common neurological diseases; - describe the manifestations, symptoms, and diagnosis of these diseases; - suggest the possibilities and benefits of a physiotherapist in diagnostics and treatment.
- Syllabus
- 1. Neuromuscular diseases I (motor neuron and neuromuscular junction diseases, muscle diseases) 2. Neuromuscular diseases II (peripheral nervous system diseases) 3. Cerebrovascular diseases 4. Spondylogenic disorders 5. Degenerative brain diseases 6. Headache 7. Seizure disorders and vertigo 8. Multiple sclerosis 9. Inflammatory diseases of the nervous system 10. Spinal cord diseases 11. Intracranial tumors and brain trauma 12. Cerebral palsy and functional movement disorders 13. Complex regional pain syndrome + final test
