Abstract
This subject is organised in cooperation with regional hospitals and enables students to gain practical experience in the routine operation of surgical departments and outpatient clinics.
Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, the student:

  • understands the structure and organisation of a surgical department;
  • is prepared for initial patient contact in a surgical clinical setting;
  • demonstrates basic communication skills when interacting with patients and their relatives in a surgical department;
  • recognises and appropriately responds to acute situations encountered in a surgical department.
