(NB: Students studying a foreign language as the main course of their study do not register for Entrance test A2 and the information below does not concern them.) WHO IS OBLIGED TO REGISTER FOR THE ENTRANCE TEST A2: The compulsory study of a foreign language is part of the Teacher Training in Specialised Subjects pro Primary and Secondary Schools study programmes. Students can choose either English or German. In semester 1, they register for the Entrance test A2 in one of the languages offered. If they are credited, they may register for "English/German for Technology Teachers" in semester 2. THE AIM OF THE ENTRANCE TEST A2 is to find out whether the students have achieved at least the minimum required entrance level of knowledge, which is A2. The follow-up compulsorily-optional courses of foreign languages at the Faculty of Education are taught at level B1 (Bachelor's degree) and B2 (Master's degree). The courses develop academic and specialist language. B1, resp.
