Course objectives
The seminar enriches and systematises students´ present knowledge and competences in the field of academic research focused on connections between world religions and literature.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to explain the origin of the sacred texts and the development of literary canons in the major religions in world. They will be able to identify and analyse chosen normative and non-normative (literary) religious texts. They will be able to interpret literary works of art as well as justify and support their views using their knowledge of literary studies.

Teaching methods
Through analysis of normative and non-normative religious texts, students will increase their knowledge and skills in their own literary scholarship. In doing so, they will make creative use of the knowledge gained both from direct teaching and from independent work with recommended literature, which they will be able to consult regularly with the teacher.
Assessment methods
Type of completion: colloquium (oral interview). For successful completion of the course, the student will prepare a research paper for presentation, which must be successfully presented and defended. The second requirement is active participation in the seminar. The third requirement is a good knowledge of the compulsory reading (3 publications), which is verified during the interview.
