Course objectives
At the end of the course, participants should be able to

explain the differences in the pronunciation of German and Czech vowels, diphthongs and prosody

characterise the corresponding pronunciation errors of native Czech speakers

read aloud a German text with a focus on correct German pronunciation

to recognise one's own pronunciation errors
Learning outcomes
The student knows how to characterize the difference in pronunciation of Czech and German vowels, diphthongs, and prosody. He can identify his own mistakes in pronunciation and so gain proper pronunciation. He knows how to avoid typical mistakes in pronunciation made by native Czech speakers.

Assessment methods
Fulfilling requirements: The students are supposed to read a short German text with emphasis on correct German pronunciation- MP3 file, test.
Náhradní absolvování
Students on a study abroad program will be allowed to fulfill the requirements (after agreement with the instructors at the beginning of each semester) through distance learning.
