- Abstract
- The aim of the course is to deepen knowledge of the current didactic approach to foreign language teaching, acquaintance with current curriculum documents with regard to language education (curriculum for primary eduction, Supplement to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, development of the ability to mediate language resources in school German language teaching, of the ability to create own teaching materials, to plan and prepare lessons, of self-reflection and reflection on teaching practice and of didactical thinking.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of the course, learners will be able to:
• describe the language policies and rules concerning education, identify the principles of modern foreign language teaching and analyse curricular documents;
• put into practice the theoretical knowledge acquired about language teaching methods;
• plan and prepare lessons;
• take the principles of individualisation and differentiation into account when planning lessons;
identify and describe the principles of didactics of another foreign language (German as another foreign language after English) and apply them in teaching;
• reflect on their own teaching and develop self-reflection. - Key topics

- Students on a study abroad program will have their ISP (Individual Study Plan) recognized, and they will be allowed to fulfill the requirements (after agreement with the instructors at the beginning of each semester) through distance learning. Possible recognition of the course (for a course at the host university) should be discussed with the lecturer before the start of the semester.
